About this deal

Thanks Iain, it took a while to figure out how to use it, but now I feel it's a valuable piece of equipment. The cobra bag has a sturdy design and a heavyweight base that ensures it stays in place during training. The fact you have two pivot points, both moving at different speeds, makes the bag swing back up at you in a much more unpredictable way. I thought I would get a cheap brand and they were just using the everlast picture but it is actually an everlast bag.

Straight Flex (Unlock Base, Lock Neck) setting is ideal for punch techniques, agility, footwork, defense and timing. The one downside of it that you cannot alter is that you pretty much have to conform to the speed of the bag, which is rhythmic and regular.

The cobra bag is an effective training tool for developing essential striking skills, such as hand-eye coordination and defensive maneuverability. SportsPower WG has everything for the sport fanatic, fitness buff or just for everyday lounging around. Depending on your set up, the bag’s springs either feel like they move too fast or two slow, and personally I’d have loved to see a mid-point.That doesn’t necessarily mean the bag is better, but style is a definite factor for a lot of people. The second method of training with the Everlast Hyperflex is by locking the bottom spring so that only the top spring moves. Train with this bag to gain the vital edge you need to win by honing your punching speed, accuracy, and timing. Overall I feel like where this bag has tried to add variety, it instead finds itself torn between two extremes.

Water flows into these holes naturally, but I can only imagine that trying to fill the base with sand would take forever. For that reason, I tend to use it as a kind of "break" during longer bagwork sessions, or something similar. You can either increase or decrease the height of the pole, which means that you can customise it to yourself a little. If the top spring was slightly lower on the pole, it would have provided a nice swing, acting almost like a ‘cobra’ bag. For a reflex bag that’s not cheap, however I really can’t say that you don’t get your money’s worth.Instead I’d suggest you use a garden hose or similar, but there’s then no way to measure the amount of water used. Finally, you can use the Everlast Hyperflex with both springs unlocked, so the bag has two pivot points. The pole is then half silver and half black, which again has ‘Hyperflex written down it in white and yellow.
